Sites with deposit limitsHow to choose a gambling budget
Treat gambling like any other night out: it costs money, and the money is gone once it’s spent. Start with what’s left after your bills, debts and savings, then decide how much of that you’re happy to spend on gambling — knowing you’ll probably lose it.
- Never use money meant for bills, rent or food. If the leftover figure is small or negative, now isn’t a good time to gamble.
- Don’t borrow to gamble. That includes credit cards, overdrafts and loans.
- Set the limit on the site, not just in your head — a site’s deposit limit holds firm when you’re tempted to top up.
- Winnings are a bonus, not part of the budget. Withdraw them rather than playing them back.

How much of my spare money should I gamble?
There’s no single right answer, but keep it small — many people use around a tenth of what’s left after bills and savings. If there’s nothing left over, the right budget is zero.
Should I set a daily, weekly or monthly limit?
Whichever matches how you get paid and how you play. A monthly limit equal to your budget is simplest; a weekly limit spreads it out.
